Specific Need

Nemaha County Meals on Wheels continues to provide warm, nutritous meals to our local seniors.  We will be changing locations by the end of the year and will need some updated kitchen equipment. Our goal this match day is $6000 to be used for a new convection oven. If you prefer the gift of time, we have volunteer opportunities from one hour a month to a few hours a week. Meals on Wheels offers more than just a meal to our local seniors. Our staff and volunteers have been working harder than ever to keep up with the rising costs and the growing demand for services in our area. During these difficult times, having someone who shows up every day to deliver a nutritious meal and ensure thier health and safety provides a lifeline for our local seniors. Our volunteer is often the only person that a senior may see or talk to in a day. We rely on donations for a large portion of our expenses. Grants and county funds are limited.
